TLDR: There may be some deal-breakers for folks, but it served our needs. The good: Plenty of space to spread out and be comfortable. All appliances we tried worked. (Didn't use the dishwasher - dragging it across the kitchen to hook it up to the sink was more than we needed for two people.) WiFi was adequate to work remotely and stream a show in the evening. Kitchen is well-stocked with plates, cups, utensils, pots/pans, etc. Standard appliances, nothing "apartment-sized". Washer/dryer cleaned and dried fine. Lots of birds in the trees for a lovely chorus in the morning. The questionable: Home is on a busy street (we knew this going in, but some folks may not want the noise), and the dumpster next door is emptied about 5:50am. (!!) You can only enter through the side door - the front door doesn't work. The ugly: A musty smell in the master bedroom was pretty overwhelming. Not sure if it was from a smoker or someone else. It helped to open a window. There was a stain on the carpet by the master bed that was undefinable. There was trash under the bed, and there was no mattress cover/pad.
See (and feed) the animals from the beautiful, treed back yard with fragrant flowers. Spread out in the spacious house that feels like a real home, not a hotel suite. Then get in your car and explore multicultural Mesa or head east for amazing trails. We particularly recommend Mekong Plaza if you like Asian food (several restaurants and a huge supermarket), the Riparian Preserve in Gilbert (level paths, amazing bird life and a fishing pond), the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix (pricey, but takes hours to explore), Usery Mountain Regional Park, Lost Dutchman State Park (many short trails in each), and the Picket Post Trailhead, where you can pick up the Arizona Trail and L.O.S.T Loop. For ANY walk or hike, though, bring more water than you THINK you will need.
My Husband and I enjoyed our 5 days at The Farm! We enjoyed feeding the horse and the chickens in the back pasture! It was a relaxing stay and everything that we needed was there for us! It was nice to be able to attend a Minor League Game across the street too! The location was good and close to the stores and a church that we attended! I enjoyed sitting in the back yard and soaking up the Arizona sun!!
